In Irish mythology, Tir Na Nog (“Land of the Young”) is a supernatural realm of everlasting youth, beauty, abundance and joy. The idyllic tropical paradise of Gili Trawangan comes pretty close to that, and there you’ll find one of the world’s most remote Irish Pubs that bears the name of the mythical Tir Na Nog.

Irishman Conrad Byrne founded the pub more than eighteen years ago, and it has grown into a mini-resort complete with a restaurant and quaint hotel. The pub itself remains the best spot in town to mingle with fellow travelers and dance the night away with a bottle of Guinness or one of the local favorites. Nightly specials including trivia night and local DJs make for a constant buzz, and the big screen TVs will ensure you won’t miss the biggest Irish and English football games.

Gili Trawangan itself boasts gorgeous palm-fringed beaches and teeming tropical reefs, along with a party atmosphere that attracts young (and young at heart) travelers from around the world. When you’re there, you can’t miss Tir Na Nog – a truly unique Irish Pub that does its best to embody its namesake as the land of eternal youth.
